Today was pretty cool, but I want to talk about something that I realized yesterday. I've had medical problems since I was born, so I am no stranger to shots, blood draws, and IVs. I wouldn't say I enjoyed it, but I never particularly minded. But this last year I had a couple bad experiences selling plasma when we were beyond broke. For $20, passing out and throwing up really wasn't worth the trouble. And then there is the other negative effect that's lasting a bit longer.
I hate needles! When I was at the dentist yesterday morning, when he was shooting the local anesthetic in my mouth, my legs got all shaky. I started sweating. My stomach got all tied up. It was pretty freaky, I thought something was very wrong. Then I realized I was getting the shakes because I was scared of the needle in my mouth. So crappy.
How do I get over this? Please help. It's never been a problem in 21 years and suddenly it's an issue.
