Eh.

Life is going. Working close to full time which is really really great, but it limits the time Nathan and I get to spend together. My best friend in Rexburg, Joanna, asked me last week if I ever felt like Nathan and I lead separate lives. I'd never thought of it like that, but sometimes it sure feels that way. We both have full schedules on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays... we don't see each other until at least 2 after parting ways at 7:30. Tuesdays and Thursdays are a little better, we get to see each other during a brief morning break of mine, but still kind of a bummer.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not delusional about the way life is going to be once Nathan graduates and gets an engineering job. I know he's still going to work 8 hours a day and I won't see him until evening, but hopefully he won't have 4 hours of work to bring home every day like he does now. It's just important to keep a good perspective. Just a few more semesters and we move into the next stage of life! Hopefully we can get a job in the Seattle area, start having kids, buy a house, and whatever else bona-fide adults do.

Now for a sad story with a happy ending.
I got a really really terrible migraine last Tuesday. I absolutely could not function. I had no choice but to call in sick. I previously had this high-and-mighty feeling about never having missed a day of work in six months, and now it's destroyed. Tragic. So I was laying in bed with my pillow on top of my pounding head for hours, and then I got a thought... call Rachel! Rachel is my oldest sister and I love her a lot. She suffers from migraines and has dealt with them for as long as I can remember. I get migraines so rarely (maybe once a year?) that I don't have a clue on how to make them go away. Rachel, on the other hand, has an entire arsenal of knowledge on how to combat the evil migraine. So I decided to call her. Or text her, since talking on the phone was not on my list of things to do.

She did not disappoint. Coca-Cola. Excedrin Migraine. Gatorade. Cold compress. I immediately called Nathan to ask him to get this stuff from the store and bring it to me. Except Nathan didn't answer his phone. I called him at least ten times and texted him. No answer. 'This is it,' I thought. 'I'm going to die.'

I desperately called one last time, and he picked up! I told him I was dying and that I needed some Coke and Gatorade. This man is seriously a hero. He went to Walmart and got everything (minus the cold compress) and was home in 20 minutes. After dosing myself with caffeine, it didn't take long for my migraine to improve. Within an hour I could walk around without blinding pain. I could open my laptop and check Facebook (priorities). I could finally EAT something! It was amazing! Eventually my migraine went away completely and around 9 I felt well enough to go walk on a treadmill with Nathan for a while.

THE END.

Also, Nathan and I gave talks in sacrament meeting last Sunday (not yesterday). Apparently they were pretty good but I totally blacked out and have no idea what I said. People were like "wow you are SO funny" and I was like, yeah it would have been hilarious if I had vomited all over the pulpit like I thought I was going to.

I want a kitten.

Oh okay.

Soooooo today I was released as a Relief Society secretary! I was definitely not expecting to be released, and everyone else is still in the presidency. On the one hand I liked my calling and will miss it, but on the other hand I was getting really burned out and needed a change. Sometimes I felt like I was working SO hard and not actually making a difference and that became extremely frustrating. It will be nice to not have to leave Sunday school early to make sure everything gets started on time. It will be nice to not have it be THAT big a deal if I get sick and don't go to church. I feel like a huge part of my job is to be dependable, and it's nice to not have to be dependable at work AND at church.

I'm actually pretty grateful for this change. I've had this calling since March (or something, I actually have no idea) and it can actually be extremely stressful, so I welcome a little less stress... at least for now. I just feel kinda bad for Amber, the (now) only secretary! She just had a baby on Wednesday and had to go to the hospital (Amber, not the baby) for an infection yesterday. She will be fine, but I don't know if she'll be up for solo secretarial duties by next Sunday! I guess the other girls can handle the load until she gets better. But since I'm nice I'll try to make sure everything is up to date so she doesn't have to do things I've been putting off haha.

Double-plus bonus, I don't have to carry a million binders every Sunday!
