Now taking bets on how much longer until my laptop completely dies.
It's like a 2004 Sony Vaio, Windows XP, weighs more than 7 pounds, and makes a ridiculously loud sound within two minutes of booting it up. The plastic piece that is supposed to hold the battery in place is broken completely off and the battery must be secured with two or so pieces of packing tape. Speaking of the battery, it lasts less than 10 minutes before shutting down if it's not plugged into the wall, so it's not exactly what one would call portable. I got this laptop really cheap off of a friend in 2008 after my nice new Dell was repossessed by my mom after I failed two college classes (in my defense, my terrible high school did not prepare me for college, which ended up being extremely depressing in the clinical sense), but there's no use dwelling on the past. The Vaio, it's lived a decent life for a notebook computer, but I'm really worried it's going to die before we can afford to replace it. Top it off with jealousy over Nathan's brand new beautiful NOT HEAVY laptop with the built-in memory card reader (!!) and NUMBER PAD... woe is me.
I feel like Ron Weasley, who once asked the universe with tears in his eyes, "Why is everything I own rubbish?"
