Yes, ladies and gentleman, you heard right. Alex, my host sister from Germany, arrived on Monday night! I'm so glad she's here! I missed her a lot these past couple of months, but thank goodness for Facebook, right?
Alex and I might as well be twins. We have SO much in common; even our humor is the same and it rarely gets lost in translation. I feel terrible that my German is so deplorable; I was getting pretty good while I was in Germany, but once I got back, all of my newly-acquired language skills just leaked out of my brain. Saddest thing ever.
It's too bad my car broke down last month, because I could be a lot more involved with the activities that their group is doing if I had a working vehicle. My parents are going down to Utah in a couple of weeks, and I can drive their cars while they are gone. Maybe I can convince my dad to carpool or take the bus to work until then, but I'm not holding my breath.
While I was in Germany, I found myself spending a lot of time with a few people in my group; Kyle, Mark, and Becky, and their respective German host sisters Jessy, Mareike, and Jenny. The eight of us in varying combinations spent mostly every day together and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Tomorrow, all of us are getting together at Kyle's house for dinner (which the Wests will probably appreciate; when's the last time I WASN'T here for dinner?) and having a barbeque/potluck. Alex and I don't really know what we should make, but I'm sure we'll figure something out. Maybe lemon bars or something. Haha.
I wish I had more to blog about but I'm an incredibly uninteresting person. I just make up for my lack of hobbies with a few clever witticisms here and there.
When Alex is done writing her emails, we're going to watch Monday's Gossip Girl. That show... I can't say I'd recommend it to anyone, but I love it and I can't get enough. Oh well, it's better than Twilight.
You won't be here for dinner? Maybe we'll have some pineapple.
