Adventures!

Today was really fun! Despite parting relatively early last night, Nathan and I didn't actually start hanging out until after 1. After a good 45 minutes of "what are we going to do today?" "I don't know, what do you want to do today?" etc. we decided to go on an adventure!

He wanted to go north, so we flipped a quarter to decide whether or not to take I-5 or Highway 9. A word to the wise: flipping coins in moving cars is pretty much the dumbest thing ever. Inertia caused the Massachusetts quarter to smack me in the head no less than four times before tails informed us that we were heading down the 9.

Marysville to Sedro-Woolley was a really nice drive! I haven't gone down Highway 9 much further north than Arlington and I'll say it again: Western Washington never ceases to amaze me. It's pretty here. Seriously. REALLY pretty.

We stopped at this Chinese restaurant in Sedro-Woolley and ate WAY too much food, and then continued north to Burlington. By that time, we decided to find I-5 and head up to Bellingham, to see one of my two siblings that live up there. We eventually got ahold of my sister and headed over to her place. We didn't do a lot, but it was nice to sit and talk for a while. Then we went to the Fairhaven district. Driving through it without pause, we got back on I-5, heading home.

Nathan almost ran the car off the road trying to eat our leftover Chinese food, but his reflexes prevailed and we didn't die. Probably the highlight of the day was the not dying.

Anyway, after a quick stop at my house, we headed over to Nathan's house, where his mom showed me this cool "Choose Your Own Adventure" book that she made for her husband to give him some very pointed ideas of what he should do for her upcoming birthday. She's a smart lady. I aspire to one day be as subtle as her.

We did absolutely nothing wedding-related today and I don't care. Maybe tomorrow.

  2. I too aspire to be as subtle as my sister some day. But I can't tell you that as you are my sworn enemy.

P.S. We have Zac working on that dance routine but, alas, the boy has no rhythm.
